TOWN centre superstore plans could revitalise Tyldesley.
Cheshire based developers Bushwing has applied to Wigan Council for permission to build a food supermarket and petrol station on the old Barnfield Mill site off Shuttle Street, Tyldesley.
Phase one of the housing development on part of the Caleb Wright site is complete and the second phase of housing is about to be built.
David Walker, of Knutsford-based Bushwing, said:"That leaves half the mill site left - 2 or three acres - we would like to develop.
"Hopefully the two facilities will put something back into the town centre.
"If you could stop people moving out of Tyldesley to do their weekly shopping perhaps other businesses would benefit.
"We are talking particularly to one operator but are not excluding others."
