Knowsley Utd 1 Accrington Stanley 1
FOOTBALL was not the order of the day at Alt Park as Accrington produced a poor performance against one of the UniBond Premier League's lesser teams and were forced to settle for a draw.
Supporters who wanted to watch flowing football stayed in front of the TV.
On 20 minutes Knowsley took the lead after a good move down the right.
Stannard played the ball inside to Kinney who took his goal well.
This seemed to stir the visitors and in the 24th minute Welsh brought the best out of Haig in the home side's goal.
Stanley raised their game in the second half, pushing the home side into their own half for long periods.
But it was not until the 80th minute that Stanley grabbed the equaliser when Rawstron made a good run on the right side of the area and chipped across to substitute Taylor who buried the ball from 10 yards.
A point away from home may look like a point well-earned. Nothing could be further from the truth more like two points thrown away against a side which will finish in the bottom half of the table in an inept Stanley performance.
