COUNCILLORS voted for High Court action to end a stench that had hung over Blackburn for more than 20 years. The decision meant that Brazendale's Blackburn Products - a controversial bone works company based at Whalley Banks - was likely to close.
Walker Kim Smith, of Charlotte Street, Blackburn, was found safe in the Yorkshire Dales by rescue teams after using his portable CB radio to send a distress signal.
