A SHOCKED driver escaped with whiplash when her car was hit from behind by a lorry and flipped onto its side.
The lorry failed to stop after the accident on the A56 Edenfield bypass and police are appealing for witnesses.
Laura Clarkson, of Rhodes Avenue, Blackburn, was taken to Blackburn Infirmary and allowed home after treatment.
Police said her Metro was hit from behind by the truck, went on to its side and slid across the bypass into a wall.
