HEAD teacher Peter Booth ran over Pendle Hill to get to work and teach the kids a green lesson.
He was supporting "Walk to School Day 3'' and at the same time raising money for improvements at his school, Hargher Clough Primary, Burnley.
Mr Booth, a member of Clayton-le-Moors Harriers, regularly walks three miles to school from his home in Burnley.
But he decided to make a big detour and ran the 14 miles along parts of the Pendle Way...and still got to school on time.
His effort was to show his pupils the important message behind the Travelwise initiative.
Yesterday was the third time primary schools in Lancashire took part in a Walk to School event to help reduce car traffic and pollution.
So far more than £100 has been pledged by parents and pupils while the Travelwise initiative are also sponsoring him with the promise of a CD ROM for the school.
