BURNLEY boss Adrian Heath wants the Football League to review their early-season fixture policy.
The Clarets suffered a massive injury crisis this month and Heath was forced to field himself on the substitutes bench at Bury and again against Stockport.
Today's game at Rotherham is Burnley's 16th league and cup fixture since the big kick-off last August - and Heath feels that is too hectic a schedule.
He said: "Last week was our first free week since the season started in August and I think that is too much football. We are already quarter of the way through the season.
"You don't get any respite whatsoever. It seems a nonsense when you end up with so many blank weeks throughout the season when surely it would be more sensible to spread the midweek fixtures out.
"The amount of times you are sending players out not fully fit is frightening. Sometimes they are only playing at 80 per cent fitness. "It's simply not fair on the players and it's certainly not fair on the paying public."
