HISTORIC Towneley Hall in Burnley has hosted its first wedding reception since becoming a museum.
Newlyweds Lesley Jane Murtaugh and Michael Anthony Muldoon chose the picturesque setting to celebrate their big day and 60 guests sat down to a meal in the Red Regency Room.
Lesley's dad Dennisinitially wanted the wedding to take place in the hall. But, because it is not licensed, they settled for the next best option and arranged the reception there.
Dennis, of Rimmington, said: "The main entrance proved excellent for a sherry reception and canapes and the room really looked splendid. "Towneley has always been a focal point for people in Burnley and I have fond memories of Towneley as a child."
The family organised its own catering and Lesley's mum Sally made the dresses and the flower arrangements.
The couple, from Stoney Street, Burnley, held an evening reception at Michelin Social Cub, Burnley.
The bride worked until recently at Haworth Art Gallery, Accrington, and the bridegroom - son of Michael and Bernice Muldoon of Burnley - works for Raab Karcher timber merchants, Colne.
Bridesmaids were Helen Sumner, Victoria Edmondson and Lauren Gibaut.
Best man was Neil Muldoon.
