ACCRINGTON 10 WEAVERHAM 46
A PROMISING start to this game saw Accrington take a deserved six point lead after 10 minutes and at that stage were dominating play.
With the benefit of a scrum deep into the visitors' half they threw away the advantage by ill discipline. From the resultant penalty for butting Weaverham stormed upfield t level matters. Minutes later they crossed the Accrington try line once more to take a 10-6 lead they were never to lose.
Weaverham took a grip on the match, but Accrington kept battling up to half time when they only trailed 18-10 and all to play for. The more organised visitors continued to cause problems and during the latter part of the game with Accrington running out of steam, ran in several tries without reply.
What had started as a close match had resulted in another heavy defeat for the home side who must learn to retain the hard-fought for possession and improve their, at times, poor discipline.
This was another bitter pill to swallow, but Accrington must get themselves together for another hard encounter at Blackpool Scorpions, away on Saturday, the team to meet at the Red Lion, Blackburn, 12.30pm.
