WALLCOVERING giant Borden Decor International has won a major award for its overseas sales.
The Darwen-based export arm of Crown Wallcoverings has scooped the NatWest/FT Export Excellence Awards for the North West.
It exports to more than 60 countries worldwide and is currently enjoying major growth in Eastern Europe and Asia.
"This is a great achievement for everyone in the company," said Colin Gardner, export director of Borden Decor.
"In 1995, we contributed £50 million of sales to the group and the last six years in particular have seen a substantial growth in export business.
"Our success is built upon understanding the needs of world markets and producing innovative, quality products to fill those needs."
Entrants were judged by a panel of experts including officials from the Institute of Export.
Borden will now go forward with five other regional winners to the national award ceremony in London on November 20.
