IT was English eyes that were shining when dedicated fans of Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell met their heartthrob.
About 45 members of the Daniel O'Donnell North West Association travelled across the Irish sea to see their idol's first hometown performance at the Festival of Kincasslagh.
And most of the group even managed to get to dance with the celtic crooner and meet fellow Irish star Gloria Hunniford into the bargain.
Winifred Douglas said: "We had a terrific trip and one of the highlights was when Daniel came in to speak to us while we were having a meal at his hotel.
"He is a perfect gentleman and wanted to make sure we were all enjoying ourselves."
They also met up with him at a traditional Irish ceilidh where he taught Winifred and the group a few dance steps.
On the last night of the four-day festival, a Belle of the Ball dance was held with Gloria Hunniford as guest of honour.
"The whole festival was wonderful," said Winifred.
"The Irish people welcomed us with open arms and we can't wait to go back again next year."
But the fans won't have to wait that long to see their idol again - he is at Blackburn's King George's Hall later this month.
