TWO pet budgerigars had their heads hacked off with a knife by bloodthirsty vandals who broke into an old people's day centre.
The attack took place at the Ardley Centre, Bent Street, Blackburn.
Rumours that an East Lancashire engineering firm was threatened with redundancies have been denied by the management.
Staff at Burnley Engineering Products were sent letter to confirm all jobs were safe.
