McDONALD'S has donated £2,500 to the Ewood Young Persons project which aims to transform a stretch of the Ewood Parkway into a community resource, complete with sculpture trail.
The bulk of the money will be used to re-build a set of steps on the path from Bolton Road to Roman Road estate.
Groundwork volunteer Helen Sansom explained: "The project is being carried out with Groundwork, sponsored by McDonald's. Although it is called the Young Persons project it will involve a few senior citizens as well.
"The land is generally neglected and is often used as a dumping spot.
"But it is well used by residents as a short cut so our first priority will be to improve the steps which are quite steep and dangerous at the moment."
Volunteers taking part will receive training from the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers.
