CAT-NAPPERS have left a four-year-old boy heartbroken after abducting his pet from a local pub and a call for help has gone out to a Whitefield dowser.
It is three weeks since Ryan Edgar, of Montgomery Way, Radcliffe, saw Smokey the cat, a regular at the nearby Sparking Clog pub.
Ryan's mother, Mrs Michelle Edgar said: "Ryan's beside himself; I don't think there's been a day that he hasn't mentioned him."
The blue-grey cat was stolen three weeks ago when he made his usual visit to the pub where the landlady feeds him scraps.
Mrs Edgar said: "Apparently, a woman saw him and remarked to her boy-friend how beautiful he was and how she wanted him.
"The man picked Smokey up and they walked out. A customer who witnessed it presumed they were his owners."
She has contacted Whitefield dowser Colin Scott, hoping he can help track down the eight-year-old pet.
