AN amateur explorer has just arrived back from a trip to the frozen North.
Tom Doyle travelled to Svalbard, between North Norway and the North Pole, with a team of 80 young people and 20 trained leaders on the six-week expedition. The British Schools Exploring Society expedition was sponsored by Del Monte. Most of the youngsters, including Tom, of Todmorden, spent four days stuck in tents on glaciers as a result of bad weather.
