A BOGUS roofing worker who is said to look like Eric Pollard, the shady antiques dealer from Emmerdale, is being sought by detectives in Burnley.
They are appealing to the public for help in tracing two bogus roofing workers who stole property from the homes of two elderly people.
At 11.30am on Thursday they called at the home of a 79-year-old woman in Waterbarn Street, Burnley, telling her that there were loose slates on the roof. While one kept her talking, the other went inside and stole a brown, pink and fawn shoulderbag, black purse, £75 cash, keys, driving licence and personal documents.
About eight minutes later, the same men called at the home of an elderly man in Casterton Avenue, Burnley.
They told him the chimney stack was in a dangerous condition and that they would repair it for £5. They stole his pension book.
One of the men was in his mid-thirties, over 6ft tall, slim, with black curly hair.
The other was 45 to 50 years, 5ft 6in to 5ft 8ins tall, slim with grey hair and said to look like Eric Pollard of Emmerdale.
