A WREATH was laid in a misty graveyard as Aberfan remembered its lost children on the 25th anniversary of the coal tip disaster. It was placed at the foot of the large cross bearing the names of all 144 victims.
An ice hockey star had emergency surgery to save the sight in one eye after he was smashed in the face by a puck. Surgeon's operated on Blackburn Hawks' club captain Bernie Snagg's left eye.
