A FAST-EXPANDING company is building a new plant overseas as its Far Eastern market continues to grow.
Blackburn-based Longworth, which specialises in refurbishing filters used in manufacturing industries, has begun work in Malaysia.
In recent years Longworth, based at Glenfield Park, has installed filter cleaning systems for plants in China, Taiwan, Indonesia and Thailand.
"A few years ago we could not have imagined this development but the enormous demand for our technology in the Far East meant that we had to grow quickly and provide the resources to maintain growth," said chairman Brian Longworth.
The Malaysian plant being built in the Kuantan area will be operational by mid-1997.
It will serve the polyester polypropylene, polyamide and elastomerics industries throughout the Far East.
