A FAMILY have appealed for help in finding a pet dog which fled after a road accident.
The small Staffordshire bull terrier - Scrapper - was hit by two cars on the A666 between Darwen and Blackburn after being let off the lead.
Owner Jacqueline Wilson believes the animal may be being cared for by somebody who does not realise how badly injured he might be.
The accident happened on Saturday evening near to The Moat House public house and has left Jacqueline's nine-year-old son Christopher devastated.
Jacqueline, of Sandy Lane, Lower Darwen, said: "He has spent all weekend looking for Scrapper with his friends. I have spoken to the police, RSPCA and animal shelter but no-one has seen him."
Scrapper is small and brown and wore a red studded collar. He is 18 months old.
