I DON'T know about sacking Ray Harford. What about the board - a truly inept, weak and utterly irresponsible lot.
We need some ruthlessness and quickly. I am absolutely alarmed that Jack Walker has allowed the present situation to materialise and is seemingly unconcerned about the fiasco.
ALLAN KENYON, Bennington Street, Blackburn.
Bramwell: 'Sack the Board' is a knee-jerk reaction which solves and achieves nothing. Critical analysis of the differing roles in the club's hierarchy is a more constructive approach. AS a supporter who has spent a considerable amount of money on season tickets, I am disgusted at the lack of action by the Rovers club.
Despite the fact that we have a manager who obviously should - and apparently wishes - to be relieved of his duties, the club continues to do nothing except state that he is doing a good job.
What do they think is going to change unless action is taken?
We are quickly drifting into the First Division.
Is money available or is there a change in policy? Why can we not sign any players?
Is it the manager's fault or the owners of the club? Who is making the decisions?
The problems appear to go deeper than just replacing the manager.
I do not want to continually hear denials that we are interested in various players, but want some positive action and ambition.
New manager, new players, new outlook, proper public relations - all these are needed and very quickly or it will soon be too late.
DAVID HOLROYD, East Lancs Road, Blackburn.
Bramwell: The club has already undergone a period of immense turmoil and to demand such an extensive overhaul is only asking for more trouble.
Lessons have to be learned but, when the dust settles, a period of stability will be just as important as the reforms demanded.
A priority must be to establish a Premiership outfit off the field as well as on. IN response to Bramwell Speaks Out (LET, October 17) I do not think Rovers can get out of the mess they are in with Ray Harford at the helm.
But I am sure that if somebody else takes over in the near future, he will not put up with the likes of Warhurst, Gallacher, Bohinen and Wilcox.
They do not give 100 per cent and every time they break a boot lace, they have six weeks off.
Graham Rix at Chelsea is my choice for Ray's replacement.
J TAYLOR, Stopes Brow, Blackburn.
Bramwell: I would rather see Kermit the Frog as the new boss than Graham Rix. HOW can Rovers chairman Rob Coar state that Ray Harford is doing a good job? How is it Ray cannot attract big-name players instead of bit-part players.
Ray is a good honest man and very genuine, but he is not a good manager.
To be a good manager, you must have the respect of all your staff. I'm afraid Ray does not.
To be a good manager, you must play players in their best positions. Ray does not.
To be a good manager, you must respect your opposition and not be afraid to attack them down the flanks and get around the back of their defence. Ray tucks them in. Why?
Mr Walker can't be happy. Many of the fans are not.
Change while the escape route is open. A big-name manager and big signings are required.
A BRADSHAW, Harwood Street, Darwen.
Bramwell: To be a good player, you must show guts when the going gets tough. Many are not. It is not all Harford's fault.
