MAGICIAN Ricky Reidy is ready to follow in the footsteps of David Copperfield after scooping the Blackburn Modern Mystic League's close-up competition for the second year running.
Ricky, 22, believed to be the youngest to win the annual Fred Mills Trophy contest, aims ultimately to be as famous as the American conjuror - but will make do with a residency spot first.
The landscape gardener from Greenside Avenue, Blackburn who only joined the league last May thrilled his colleagues with his sleight of hand skills under the spotlight.
Ricky said: "I've been interested in magic since I was about six and ultimately I would love to take it up as a full-time profession. At the moment I am doing wedding receptions and parties but a residency spot would be a step in the right direction."
