EPPING'S Costa Coffee shop has been presented with a certificate to mark its success in the People's Favourite Tree category at the St John's Church Christmas Tree Fest-ival last December.
The church staged the event to raise money for the church restoration appeal and the charity Send A Cow to Africa.
A total of 51 trees were decorated by local people, businesses and societies with the festival raising over £4,000 for the two charities.
Costa Coffee's tree was hung with decorations made from items used in the shop, and featured lights in paper coffee cups and stars made from stirrers.
This year's event runs from December 9 to 12. Letters will soon be sent to businesses and societies inviting them to contribute.
This year mayor Brian Rolfe's charity, the Box (which provides a High Street meeting place for young people to socialise), will be supported, along with the restoration appeal.
The Box is run by the Koinonia Youth Trust, an entirely voluntary organisation.
St John's Church is entering the last phase of its restoration work with its next project being to replace the wiring and lighting.
