SMALL businesses in Burnley which create jobs are in line for grants of up to £10,000 in a new regeneration scheme.
Firms employing fewer than 25 people can apply for cash if private loans are not enough to pay for their expansion plans.
The grants, from Burnley challenge fund and the European regional development fund, can cover as much as a quarter of the cost of equipment, tools or marketing projects.
"Some small businesses are ready to take a leap forward but are unable to raise the necessary finance," said Councillor Marcus Johnstone, chairman of Burnley council's economic sub-committee.
"This fund will help to free them from that dilemma."
