JENNIFER FAIRHURST has been selected for the Great Britain U18s Ladies Water Polo team.
The 17-year-old has flown out for a six-nation tournament in the Czech Republic, where she will spend five days in Pilsen.
After selection Jennifer - a member of the Tyldesley Swimming and Water Polo Club for 12 years - swam competitively against the senior Sheffield National team, beating then 11-8.
Jennifer, a former Head Girl at Hesketh Fletcher High, scoring four of the goals to be the squad's leading goalscorer.
After her Czech adventure, she travels to Walsall to swim for the U20s Northern Countries team in an Inter-District meet. Then, in December, she will don the No 7 GB cap again to play in Scotland against the Scottish Senior Ladies.
