STAFF at a popular bingo club have scooped their own 'jackpot' in a nationwide customer care survey.
For the Mecca Bingo Club in Kirkland Street, St Helens, has scored top marks in the survey organised by owners Top Rank Limited.
A team of 'undercover inspectors' visited all the company's 38 clubs around the country. Posing as customers, they assessed every aspect of the clubs - from the warmth of the welcome on arrival, to the cleanliness of the washrooms.
In addition, a random sample of real customers from each club was telephoned by an independent market research company and asked to rate the quality and friendliness of the staff. Customers were encouraged to be "open and honest" and their comments were fed back to the relevant clubs to help identify and improve weak points.
The St Helens club scored an outstanding 97.6 per cent for customer satisfaction; the highest result across the country. General manager Kevin Dean, says: "Customer care is the number one priority for the company. I am very proud of the team here - which is still relatively new - and I am delighted that their efforts have been recognised and rewarded. The surveys are carried out quarterly and our aim is to reach 100 per cent satisfaction levels in the future."
