RAY Harford was still on the brink today as manager of Blackburn Rovers.
But, as the pressure showed little sign of decreasing on the club, it seems to be more a matter of when, rather than if, his reign will come to an end.
I can reveal that Rovers had a lengthy board meeting yesterday and chairman Robert Coar also spoke with Harford - though the latter is not an unusual event, especially after a match.
And it seems that high-level discussions are still going on, undoubtedly with the manager's job as top item on the agenda.
Mr Coar said he was not in a position to make a more expansive statement but commented: "Nobody was happy with what happened on Tuesday.
"Discussions are ongoing but the most important thing is to ensure that the players are ready and in the right frame of mind for Saturday's game at West Ham."
