POLICE are hunting a knife-wielding robber who threatened a female shop assistant before escaping with a small amount of cash.
The incident took place at about 6pm on Sunday, October 20 at Duke's Cabin newsagents on Warrington Road, Rainhill, when a man entered the shop and picked up a bag of sweets.
He approached the till then produced a knife threatened the woman assistant before walking round the counter and taking a small amount of cash from the open till. He also made an unsuccessful attempt to break into another till before making his getaway.
The woman, who was left extremely shocked and shaken, later described the man as white, about 20 years of age, 5ft 8ins tall with a slim build. He had short blond hair and wore a green jacket.
