'A PLACE where children are made to feel special' is the Ofsted inspectors' verdict on Rockwood Nursery School, Burnley.
In a glowing report the inspectors say it is very effective in helping children make progress in all aspects of learning.
It highlights areas of success including:

Children achieve standards in line with national expectations in language, literacy, maths and other areas.
Children's personal and social development is very good and well above national expectations.
Pupils behave well and learn to share, take turns, think about and care for others.
The school gives value for money.
The quality of education is described as good, the staff as very knowledgeable with high expectations and that very good relationships are established.
The atmosphere encourages children to be caring, thoughtful and responsible.
Head teacher Ruth Donnachie is praised for bringing vision and drive to the task of leadership, ably supported by a hard-working staff.
The children are made to feel special, helping to boost their self-esteem and confidence.
Chairman of governors County Coun Tony Martin said: "The governors are delighted with the report.
"It confirms what we already knew, that Rockwood is an excellent school providing a sound education for three and four year old children in Burnley.''
