HASLINGDEN'S Happening, the town's first multicultural extravaganza, was such a success that it may happen again!
The fun day event, which got under way with a procession through the town centre, was organised to mark Haslingden's successful bid in attracting funding for a five-year programme of regeneration.
It was sponsored by Action for Haslingden Partnership Ltd in association with Mid Pennine Arts and featured different cultures, ethnic and community initiatives in a variety of events at St Mary's Parish Centre.
Attractions ranged from a one-man band to the Oswaldtwistle Cloggers, Britannia Coconut Dancers to a Chinese Dragon Dance and featured an Asian music workshop and demonstration by Shehzad Akhtar Shehzada, an international singer from Pakistan.
Bhangra folk dancers provided added colour and the Nachda Punjab Dancers and Irish band Moorland Folk also entertained.
Other attractions included face and henna hand painting, lino printmaking and mask making.
