JPILKINGTON (Letters, October 11) is right. We are all suffering from Jewish Holocaust overkill. What about the 50 million murdered by Stalin in Russia this century? Also, the 15 million Germans expelled from their ethnic homelands by the Allies after the war, with over two million killed in the process?
Do our schoolchildren know the first concentration camps were set up by the British in the war against the tiny Boer nation, incarcerating more than 116,000, mainly women and children, where, due to inadequate food, exposure and disease, particularly typhus, mass death took place?
In concentration camps during the Boer war, more than 27,000 Boers died, including more than 26,000 women and children. Was this a holocaust? How many Palestinians have been slaughtered in their ethnic homeland while the rest of the world turns a blind eye? Have our schoolchildren ever heard of the Zionist attack on the undefended Jordanian village of Qibya on October 14, 1953, where an orgy of killing took place?
Families were forced to remain in their homes at gunpoint while they were blown up with explosives.
I would venture to suggest that with deliberately manufactured hatred directed constantly against the German people and sympathy for the Jews, we will become conditioned into accepting atrocities against Palestinians as mitigation.
