A WORLD first from a brewery has scooped three industry awards for innovation.
The Murphy's Irish Stout's widget in a bottle, brewed at Whitbread's Samlesbury site, has won two accolades from the Institute of Management and the BBC Good Food Awards.
Since its launch the widget has been used by the Boddington's Export and Fuggles brands, also part of the Whitbread Beer Company portfolio,
"The Murphy's widget has been much imitated but never beaten. I only hope that, like Murphy's, our competitors aren't bitter about our success!" said Pip Landers, Murphy's marketing manager.
