WHEN is the average motorist going to take heed that what he/she is doing is contributing to what almost certainly is an epidemic in asthma, bronchitis and other distressing lung diseases.

We are long past the situation when we could expect our government to act in the best interest of the people. Perhaps the medical practitioners could speak out more forcefully regarding the dangers.

Carbon monoxide is a killer. Hospitals also could shout aloud of the hundreds of patients they are having to treat, many of them dying unnecessarily due to the selfish satisfaction of the lemming-like motorist.

Garages also have a vested interest in supplying petrol to vehicles that should be taken off the road.

The internal combustion engine can no longer be tolerated.
