ENVIRONMENTAL health officers at St Helens Council are advising shoppers to take care after it was discovered that certain packets of Walkers Crisps had been found to contain fragments of glass.

Food businesses are already being advised after news came to light of a food production problem at Walkers Foods Ltd. The products at risk are 28g Walkers Cheese and Onion potato crisps sold in multipacks which have an expiry date of January 4 1997 followed by the letter A or B; and 30g Walkers Ready Salted crisps with an expiry date of December 28 1996 or January 4 1997 followed by letter A or B.

If you come across any pack bearing the above dates, you should return them to the factory with an enclosed name and address and you will be entitled to a refund.
