SIX strong men from a Nelson warehouse will take the strain for charity when they pull a 17-tonne lorry 200 yards.
The workmates are in training for the test of strength, which will raise money to help pay for a handicapped girl's course of treatment at a specialist hospital in eastern Europe.
The colleagues, who work at the Embassy store on Glenfield Road, want to help the appeal that was launched to help cerebral-palsy sufferer Samantha Trundle travel to the Peto Institute in Hungary.
Roy Hall, from Burnley, is one of the men. He told the Citizen: "We've been weightlifting every night and we think we can pull the waggon 200 yards - but I don't think we'll be able to do anything more than that."
Other colleagues, friends and family are sponsoring the team and will cheer them on at Towneley Park, Burnley, on Saturday morning (November 16).
"The waggon is being loaned to us by Embassy. It will be loaded with hairdressing equipment and will go to the warehouse after we've finished - but I don't think we'll be able to pull it all the way to Nelson ourselves," joked Roy.
He will be joined by Ian Carson, Lee Ashworth, Leslie Tate, Frank Carson and Aaron Whitehall.
