AN INTERNATIONAL hotel group was poised to move to Blackburn as part of a £4 million-plus canalside development. The five-star scheme, opposite Eanam Wharf, included a 93-bedroom hotel plus a restaurant, conference centre, cocktail lounge and gymnasium.
Raiders kicked open a headteacher's door and escaped with a pupil's sports kit at Moorland High School, Union Street, Darwen.
