A FIRE brigade rescue team battled for more than two hours to free a Blackburn detective from his car after a serious accident. Detective Sergeant Wilfred Robinson, 39, was trapped by his feet in his Ford Sierra following the collision with a Fiesta on Billinge End Road at Pleasington.
His daughters, Andrea, seven, and Kimberley, nine, who were passengers in the back of the car, were also taken to hospital and treated for neck injuries.
