A DOG was rescued from a bedroom fire at a house in Clare Street, Accrington Road, Burnley.
Fire crews arrived at about 10pm and found the bed and bedding alight and the terrified Yorkshire Terrier cowering in a corner.
Station officer Brian Rees said: "The room was very hot but fortunately the animal appeared to be unharmed.''
No-one in the house was hurt and the cause of the fire is not certain.
