THE Chief Constable of Lancashire, Pauline Clare, is to attend the funeral on Friday of a police officer killed in an horrific four-car pile-up.
The funeral service for PC Dave Hesketh is to be held at Holy Trinity Parish Church, Barnoldswick, and will be followed by cremation. PC Hesketh's colleagues are to be bearers and senior officers from Burnley police station, together with other colleagues, are to attend.
PC Hesketh, 40, of Dale View, Earby, was killed in a road accident on the A56 at Kelbrook on November 14.
His 11-year-old son Jonathan, who was in the Fiat Panda car with his father, suffered serious head and leg injuries.
Jonathan is today undergoing surgery at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Pendlebury, to reset his jaw and rebuild his face.
