SOME luxury hotels situated in the heart of the English countryside and advertised in glossy pages of magazines, rarely fail to mention real log fires on the list of attraction.
Logs hardly cost the earth but happen to be much appreciated by many people.
For instance, what could be cosier on a cold frosty night than being in a candle-lit room beside a roaring log fire?
Christmas in bygone days would not have been complete but for the burning of the traditional yule log.
