IN an open letter to burglars who stole from dying children, a Leyland charity worker has appealed to the culprits to see how their loot could have changed lives.

Bernard Cocker from the International Aid Trust wrote the letter after the latest break-in at the charity's Leyland warehouse.

Now he hopes the thieves who took goods destined for sick children in Eastern Europe will come and see photographs of the people they try to help.

He wrote to the burglars: "It may frighten you, but I'm sure it would touch your heart."

The Christian organisation has sent out truck loads of humanitarian and medical aid and set up several hospices over the past six years.
