A LUCKY competition winner is driving round town in a new £11,000 car after claiming first prize in a Red Rose Gold contest.
Les Blackwell, from Walton-le-Dale, is now the proud owner of a Toyota Starlet, which he picked up from West End Toyota, Blackpool Road.
He joined 29 finalists at the car showroom and after a process of elimination, including numbered golden balls being put in a bingo machine he was announced as winner of the Red Rose Gold Music Challenge.
In earlier stages of the competition people throughout Lancashire had to look out for scratchcards dropping through their letterboxes and listen to the radio station to have a chance of reaching the finals.
Mike Lord, from Preston, and Anthony Golden, from Blackburn, were runners up and won overnight stays in a Lake District hotel. (R/8575)
