A WELL deserved win for Warriors U11s against Chorley was welcomed by new coach Bernard Scott.
Man of the match James Franklin scored two tries, while Andrew Bennett ran the field with his try.
Andrew Smith and Dean Taylor both contributed a try each in a close win for Warriors of 28-24.
The home game saw the forwards dominate and the backs running well, giving plenty of support.
Top tackler Hal Pedlar was outstanding, with Wes Loram kicking four goals in this well disciplined game which was a good advert for junior Rugby League.
In bitterly cold conditions the U10s played St Annes Crusaders, Shevington, at home, losing 30-0.
An impressive and gritty performance by the Leyland team saw the defence save losing by an even higher score.
Peter Clark, Wayne Standring and Paul Warren displayed outstanding performances for this ever-improving team.
