I WAS concerned to read that there are problems with the St George's and Central School merger at Tyldesley. But I would like to set the "concerned parents" facts straight.
After the merger there will still be TWO schools in Tyldesley. Hindsford CE School, formerly known as St Anne's - although, strictly speaking, it is Hindsford not Tyldesley - is only across the playing field from Fred Longworth High, and in the same catchment area as the other Tyldesley schools.
And, for any parents concerned about class sizes, our small friendly school has class sizes ranging from 12 pupils to our largest class of 29 pupils.
We always seem to be left out of the schools debate, but we have an afternoon 'nursery' for new school starters the year before they start full-time in reception class. We have a full range of activities and, as most parents know each other, we have a lovely family environment.
So don't forget about us!
