THOUSANDS of red ribbons will be flying at 33,000 feet to mark World Aids Day because of the tenacity of a health worker from Burnley.
Health education specialist Pat Ashforth has worked in the field of Aids and drugs since the 1980s and she has persuaded Virgin Atlantic Airways to present every passenger with a red ribbon when they leave the UK on Sunday.
