TYLDESLEY RU are finding consistency their biggest problem.

They romped in for six super tries in Saturday's 32-15 victory against Burnage.

But, in atrocious wetaher conditions, their performance ranged from terrific...to terrible.

They began well with two tries from Tim Brown and one from Lee West. But then they lost control, allowing their opponents back into the match.

Edge scored a touchdown to put them back on track before the try of the season (from Swanton) again put Tyldesley in command.

Veteran campaigner Chris Aldred had the final word with his first try in Tyldesley colours.

Tyldesley had, in the previous week, lost 24-23 to a last-gasp try against Ormskirk. Dave Sivill and Mackintosh scored a try apiece, Brown converted both times and added three goals. Lee Cunliffe was man of the match.

Before that they suffered their first league defeat of the season, 17-9 at St Benedicts, Sivill hitting three penalties.

Tyldesley 2nds thumped Rossendale 33-3 with Brown collecting 23 points via a try, three conversions and four penalties. Tries from Ian Worsfold and Craig Pulman with good work from Rhys Meakin.

Tyldesley 3rds had to fight all the way for 5-0 victory at Rossendale, Graham Harrop grabbing the try.

CULCHETH beat Lostock 31-5 with tries by Dave Pitt 2, Waterhouse 2 and Keppel.
