I WONDER how many more things the powers-that-be will try to ban before they get back to the reason why the things that they are attempting to cure came to be.

Firstly, they talk about guns, then knives. How about baseball bats, hammers, screwdrivers, tyre-levers, billiard cues or even motor cars?

They are responsible for more deaths than any of the others. The list could go on and on.

The 'things' are not the cause; it's the people who misuse them that are the problem.

I would suggest that each member of Parliament be given a copy of the Bible and asked to find it in wisdom that will stand the test of time.

Moses received ten Commandments, but Jesus gave us just two.

Namely: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind."

And a second: "You shall love your neighbour as yourself."

On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets.
