BURY Boot and Shoe company has given the local job prospects a big kick - by creating 85 jobs.
Monday saw the official opening of a new state-of-the-art customer service centre by the Bury firm's parent company, home shopping catalogue giants J. D. Williams.
J. D. Williams has converted part of its Brandlesholme-based Bury Boot and Shoe site to provide the hi-tech service centre - and the new jobs. The centre will be responsible for receiving catalogue orders and inquiries from 1.5 million customers.
