WIGAN and Bolton Health Authority has now centralised its activities at its headquarters in Bryan House, Standishgate, Wigan.

Staff previously based at its Churchgate office in Bolton were relocated during October and November.

The move took place over a number of weekends, causing minimum disruption to the service and was completed last week.

By centralising on one main site, the authority will be able to provide a more co-ordinated and efficient service for local people and in the long term will be able to reduce its operational costs.

A local office will continue to operate at 43 Churchgate, Bolton.

Lene Pickford, Chairman of the Health Authority said: "I am delighted that the difficulties of working from three sites across Bolton and Wigan has been resolved by the centralisation.

"It has been a major relocation of directorates and staff and they have responded magnificently, and worked timelessly to achieve a seamless transition from Bolton to Wigan."
