SOUTHAMPTON'S Matthew Robinson is on trial at Turf Moor.

The Saints midfielder made his Burnley debut in last night's Pontins League fixture against Grimsby Town.

Robinson, 21, with six Premiership appearances for Southampton under his belt, is expected to remain on trial for at least a week.

Southampton manager Graeme Souness is clearing the decks at The Dell and Hampshire sources say Robinson is available for transfer.

Assistant manager John Ward explained: "He was highly recommended to us and we're just having a look at him.

"He played well against Grimsby and we'll be giving Matthew an extended trial."

Italian triallist Alfredo Bissani also featured for a full 90 minutes against Grimsby while Spaniard Jesus Seba caught the eye with a skilful display.

Bissani played in the right-back berth and manager Adrian Heath is now considering whether to extend his trial or let the player return to Italy where Padova are keen to sign the 26-year-old. Heath added: "We'll have to reach a decision fairly soon, probably for the weekend, because he's got other offers on the table."

Heath, meanwhile, has virtually finalised the signing of Glentoran midfielder Glen Little.

Burnley have agreed a £100,000-plus deal with the Belfast club and Little watched some of his new team-mates in action at Turf Moor last night.

Little was Northern Ireland's young player of the year last season and assistant Ward confirmed: "He had his medical yesterday and we are still awaiting the results.

"We've agreed everything and we don't envisage any major problems."

Little will go straight into the squad for the weekend trip to Plymouth.

Burnley's FA Cup second round tie against Walsall at the Bescot Stadium on December 7 will be strictly all-ticket. Walsall have allocated 3,000 seats (300 concessions only) to Burnley fans in the William Sharp Stand. Adults £10.00, conc £6.00.

Season ticket holders will get priority with tickets on sale from tomorrow (10.00 am), use voucher H. Any unsold tickets will go on sale from Tuesday, December 3.
