DOES Ken Butler (Letters, November 21) really know what he is on about when he says that the internal combustion engine can no longer be tolerated?

Welcome to the 20th century. I would like to know what he uses for transport. He might use a bicycle, but I can hardly see him carrying his weekly shopping in the basket on the front. Or that he takes his Sinclair C5 down the M55 to Blackpool!

At present, we cannot survive without the good old petrol engine. As for calling motorists 'lemmings,' would all taxi drivers take note, and when this man needs their services, just ignore him.
