YOUNGSTERS with a whole lotta bottle are gearing up for their performance of the year.

Tiny tots at Colne Parish Church are practising for a Christmas Nativity play with a difference.

Junior church leader Lanka Smith is planning to use puppets, which started life as juice bottles, to tell the Christmas story.

"The children can tell the story to parents and visitors without the worry of dressing up and remembering words," she explained.

The puppets will form part of the church's popular Christian service on December 15.
